HEALING SOUL
"Dear friend,
I pray that you may prosper in all things
and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

The Way
Where healing begins, one story at a time.
Reflections on healing, life, hope, and the journey of the soul.
THE WAY
1 of 3
Dear Friend,
I hope you won't mind if I share something that has been on my heart for a long time.
Today, I want to talk with you about "The Way."
From the moment we are born until the day we leave this world, I believe every one of us is searching for a way.
How should I live?
Where should I go?
What is truly right?
Is death the end?
What comes after death?
When we really think about it, all of these questions can be summarized into one simple question:
"What is the way that I should follow?"
I believe everyone is searching for that way.
Most people spend their lives searching only for the ways of this world.
How can I become successful?
How can I be happy?
How can I live a meaningful life?
People devote themselves to finding the path to success, happiness, and fulfillment. Yet every one of those paths eventually comes to an end.
No matter how successful we become...
No matter how happy we are...
No matter how much wealth or influence we gain...
Every earthly road eventually reaches the same destination.
That destination is death.
If we are truly wise, then perhaps we should ask another question:
"Is there a way that continues beyond death? Is there an eternal way?"
I think this is one of the greatest differences between human beings and animals. We have been given the ability to think about eternity—to ask whether there is a way that continues beyond this life.
When we begin asking that question, we soon discover the limitations of every human philosophy and every religion.
Many religions also speak about "the way." Some teach the way of enlightenment or other paths to spiritual fulfillment. Yet in the end, no human being can guarantee what lies beyond death.
Why?
Because no one has ever traveled beyond death and returned to tell us with certainty.
No one has seen that eternal way with human eyes.
How can anyone fully explain something they have never experienced?
How can they promise what they cannot know?
This is why I came to trust the Holy Bible.
There is only one Book that reveals the way beyond death with certainty.
That Book is the Word of God—the Holy Bible.
From Genesis, the very first book, to Revelation, the final book, there is one theme running through all sixty-six books of the Bible.
That theme is "The Way."
The Bible is not merely a book that teaches us how to live better lives or become better people. Rather, it reveals the way that humanity lost, how that way has been opened again, and how it leads to eternal life.
The conclusion of the entire Bible is found in the words of Jesus Himself:
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
— John 14:6
Jesus is the one and only Way to eternal life.
Because there is no other way to God except through Jesus Christ, I wanted to introduce Him to you.
THE WAY

God has many plans for humanity and for all of creation. Among all of His plans, the most important for us is His plan of salvation.
The greatest crisis facing humanity is death.
The Bible teaches that those who remain in sin are separated from God and face eternal judgment. To be rescued from this greatest crisis is what the Bible calls salvation.
The church has been entrusted with the responsibility of teaching people how they can be rescued from humanity's greatest crisis. Personally, I believe this responsibility belongs not only to pastors, but to everyone who believes in God.
The Bible tells us that, in the beginning, about six thousand years ago, God created the heavens and the earth—the sun, the moon, the stars, the seas, and every living thing. At the same time, He created mankind in His own image.
One of the greatest blessings of being created in God's image is that we were created to live forever.
Out of jealousy, Satan approached Adam and Eve and tempted them to disobey God's command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Through Adam and Eve's disobedience, sin entered the world for the very first time, and because of sin, humanity became separated from God.
Yet God, who knows all things, already knew—even before the foundation of the world—that this would happen. He could not bear to see those whom He had created in His own image perish. So before the world began, He had already prepared His plan of salvation.
To accomplish that plan, God Himself came into this world through the virgin Mary, taking on human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ became the Lamb of God. By shedding His blood and dying on the cross, He opened the way for those who had been separated from God to return to the Father.
Long before the foundation of the world, God had already prepared this way of salvation through the cross.
Every person born after Adam is born in Adam's likeness.
Because of Adam's sin, we are all born with a sinful nature.
It is this sin that separates us from God.
Through Adam, death entered the world.
If we die in that condition, we face not only physical death but also the second death—eternal separation from God.
But God's story does not end there.

The Bible declares that whoever is in Christ is a new creation.
When we believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, God counts us as righteous.
He opens for us a new and living way and grants us salvation.
Salvation is received by faith. It is not something we earn.
It is God's gracious gift to everyone who believes.
When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we become a new creation.
The Bible tells us that whoever is in Christ has been made new.
God gives us a new life and opens a new beginning.
Those who believe in Him become God's children.
God's love for humanity is beyond measure.
He loved us so much that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ.
He willingly gave His Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but receive eternal life.
This is the depth of God's love for us.
The human heart is sinful and cannot save itself. Yet God is patient with us. He does not want anyone to perish. Instead, He desires that everyone come to repentance and receive His gift of salvation. This is God's heart. This is His desire for every person.
Jesus said,
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
— John 3:16
This is the Good News of the Gospel.
Whoever receives this Good News by faith receives the gift of salvation and the promise of eternal life.
The Bible promises a place where there will be no more sorrow, no more worry, no more pain, and no more suffering. This is the living hope God offers to everyone who believes.
The way to heaven does not depend on our own good works. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation.
Jesus Christ, who is God, came into this world to forgive our sins.
He was crucified for us. He died. He was buried. On the third day, He rose again.
Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father.
One day, He will return to this world. He will gather those who belong to Him, and they will live with Him forever in His heavenly kingdom. Those who reject Him will face His judgment.
The invitation of the Gospel is beautifully simple:
Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again.
Confess Him as your Lord.
"For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
— Romans 10:10
Receive His gift of salvation by faith.
Salvation is not earned by our works.
It is God's gift, received by faith alone.
When we have this hope, we are able to endure even the hardships, pain, and uncertainty of this world with gratitude and perseverance. Our hope reaches beyond this life. It reaches into eternity.
To long for the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is one of the beautiful signs of a heart that has received His salvation.
My sincere prayer is that you, too, will come to know Jesus Christ, place your trust in Him, and receive the gift of eternal life.
May the grace of God, the love of Jesus Christ, and the peace that comes from Him be with you always.
Amen!!!
With gratitude,
Dr. Esther Kim
